The Children’s Literature Association named this “the best American children’s book of the past two hundred years.” All the enchanting characters are here: Wilbur, the irresistible young pig who desperately wants to avoid the butcher; Fern, a girl who understands what animals say to each other; Templeton, the gluttonous rat who can occasionally be talked into a good deed; the Zuckerman family; the Arables; and, most of all, the extraordinary spider, Charlotte, who proves to be “a true friend and a good writer.” Determined to save Wilbur, Charlotte begins her campaign with the “miracle” of her web in which she writes, “Some pig.” It’s the beginning of a victorious campaign which ultimately ends with the now-safe Wilbur doing what is most important to Charlotte.

Students need to be prepared to sing the first part of “Part of Your World” from “The Little Mermaid.” This can be found on YouTube for them to practice. Kids will be asked to read from the script. We will email you a copy of the scenes we will be reading so your child can practice at home. We will send these scenes when we receive the scripts on May 1st.
We will notify the parents via email if their child needs to attend callbacks. Kids will be asked to sing again and read more scenes.
We will notify the parents via email if their child has been cast. If cast, there is a $200 production fee to participate.
We will rehearse Saturdays, 12:00 PM-2:00 PM and Mondays 5:30-7:30 PM. We completely understand about summer vacations, and have planned for many students to be unable to attend every rehearsal. As long as we are notified of these conflicts before we cast the show, we can work around it.
We will perform the show August 5th and 6th.
