Set in an imaginary village populated with a variety of fairy tale characters, “The Big Bad Wolf” delves into the dark secrets we try to hide from the world. Little Red Ridinghood finds herself stuck between accepting herself for who she is, and who she wants the world to think she is. Goldilocks finds herself resenting the attention the world pays to Little Red, and the Boy Who Cried Wolf has a sheep that is straying from the flock for a better life.
This is one of our production-based theater classes. Students will learn singing, acting, and dancing while performing in a full length play. Everyone who registers will be cast in the show and will have an appropriate amount of lines and singing based on their skill and experience.
We are accepting students ages 6-14 years old.
Auditions are June 5th and 6th at 6:00 PM.
Auditions will be at our Marietta Campus:
2759 Delk Road, Suite 1450 (on the left hand side of the building).
Marietta, GA, 30067
We will have a short 15-20 minute parent/cast meeting which begins right at 6:00 PM. After the meeting, we will begin working with the kids, teaching them an excerpt from a song from the show, and having them read scenes. It is a very pressure-free audition process, and no casting decisions are made based solely from the auditions. Auditions will end roughly around 7:30 PM, depending on the amount of students who audition.
Auditions are just the first step of the casting process. We will spend two weeks working with the kids, teaching them more songs, and having them read more scenes from the play. This allows the kids to become more familiar with the characters and the music. During our workshop process, we start evaluation the students’ abilities and make casting decisions based on their performance.
All students who register and pay the $200 production fee will be cast in the play. All students will have lines, and many students will have songs.
We completely understand about summer vacations, and have planned for many students to be unable to attend every rehearsal. As long as we are notified of these conflicts before we cast the show, we can work around it.
Students 6-8 will rehearse Mondays and Thursdays 5:30 PM-6:30 PM
Students 9-14 will rehearse Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays, 6:30 PM-8:30 PM
We will perform the show Friday August 18th and Saturday, August 19th.
