In a magical kingdom lived a very happy King and his twelve daughters. Nothing made these Princesses happier than dancing. One day, the Princesses learn that their father’s new wife believes dancing is very unladylike and not befitting a princess, so all dancing is banned! Using some magic and some creativity, the Princesses find out that sometimes things aren’t always what they appear to be!
This is part of our Production-Based acting classes. All students who register and pay the production fee will be given a role to play as well as lines. These classes are intended to train students in singing, acting, and dancing all while in the process of putting on a play.
Students ages 5-10.
Auditions will be Monday, January 15th, at 6:00 PM.
The auditions, workshops, and rehearsals will be at our Kennesaw studio located at:
1610 Cobb International
Kennesaw, GA 30152
Students and parents will attend a short 30 minute parent/cast meeting with the directors. We will teach the students a short excerpt from a song in the play, and have some students read a scene from the script. Finally, the kids will learn a short dance. This audition is VERY non-threatening, and is not intended to determine casting.
Workshops are a cross between an audition and rehearsal in which we will teach the students material from the show, including music and choreography. We make our casting decisions based on their performance in the workshops. Workshops are:
Sundays, 5:30-6:30 PM
Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30 PM
After we will cast the show and begin rehearsals on Tuesdays and Saturdays, only breaking for Cobb County school breaks. Same times, Sundays and Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30.
Tech Week is the week before the play in which we add costumes, lights, sets, wireless mics, and props. These rehearsals are VERY important. Tech Week is April 30th- May 3rd from 5:30 PM-7:30 PM.
Performances are Friday, May 4th at 7:00 PM and Saturday, May 5th at 3:00 PM. Students need to be at the performance venue to get into costumes and microphones 90 minutes before the show is scheduled to perform.
The production fee is $75 per month with no additional costs associated with the production aside from ticket sales and personal costume pieces such as tights, leotards, and shoes. Production fees are due on the 15th of each month.
