We are delighted to announce that YAP will be participating in the National Performing Arts Festival in Orlando.
The National Performing Arts Festival is a celebration of theater which takes place in Orlando each year. Students from all over the country gather to perform for audiences, industry professionals, and adjudicators. Students participate in workshops, Q&As with professional actors and actresses, as well as a special session with a Disney Casting Director.
The NPAF will be February 22-25, 2018. Our students will board the bus early Thursday morning and travel to Orlando and spend the weekend enjoying the Disney parks, performing, and meeting other students from all over who share their passion for theater.
Our NPAF Troupe will begin working on their production August and perform it here in Kennesaw in early December. During December, January, and February we will rehearse the condensed version of the production before taking the production down to Orlando.
Students accepted into the NPAF Troupe will receive intensive training not offered to students in our beginner and intermediate programs. We will decide on which musical we were perform based on the students enrolled in the Troupe.
This trip takes place over Cobb County February break, so Cobb County School students will not miss school for this activity.
We will only be accepting students who will be in grades 6-9 for the 2017-2018 school year.
